Farmer’s Larder Sets Nov. 21 Opening on South High Street
The Farmer’s Larder, a new market near German Village, plans to open Nov. 21 at 900 S. High St. Owner Jamie Pritchard says about 90% of the store’s offerings will come from local producers.
A new grocery market is set to open Nov. 21 at 900 S. High St., just outside German Village in the Brewery District.
The Farmer’s Larder is owned by Jamie Pritchard, founder of eastern Ohio’s WIT Farm. She plans to stock about 90% of the market with local goods, with the rest made up of specialty foods not available in Ohio. The business is promoting the store as “German Village’s Grocery.”
The market will carry produce and pantry staples, along with prepared foods, party platters and Farm Shares containing ingredients for meals. It is also taking reservations for a Thanksgiving meal package.
Pritchard has sold at the German Village Farmers Market for eight years and said her connections with neighborhood customers helped make the area a priority. She had considered opening a shop for years, but did not expect one to succeed in her home community of about 600 people. The closure of Chapman’s Eat Market in German Village last August prompted her to consider a storefront in the neighborhood instead.
Products from German Village Farmers Market vendors and businesses supplied by WIT Farm are expected to feature at the store, including goods from The Farmstead Market, Truest Farms, The Baker’s Rack and Anna Bakes Things.
The Farmer’s Larder will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
