WILMINGTON, Ohio — A 20-year-old man died after a single-vehicle crash early Sunday on U.S. 62 in Fayette County, according to the Wilmington post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The crash occurred at about 12:58 a.m. in Union Township. Investigators said a 2023 Chevrolet was traveling north on U.S. 62 when it crossed the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned several times before coming to rest in a soybean field. The driver, identified as Brock Free, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. He was later flown to a Columbus-area hospital, where he died, authorities said. The patrol’s investigation remains ongoing. No additional information about what caused the Chevrolet to leave the roadway was released.
