Juvenile dies after being shot in Bellwood; three taken into custody

A male juvenile died after being shot in Bellwood on Tuesday, Oct. 20, according to police. His age has not been disclosed.
Bellwood police said officers were called at 3:21 p.m. to the 1000 block of 22nd Avenue after receiving a report that someone had been shot and thrown from a car. Officers found the boy with a gunshot wound. Bellwood firefighters took him to a local hospital, where he died.
Police detectives were investigating Wednesday morning. Three people had been taken into custody, but authorities did not provide further details about them or the circumstances of the shooting.
