A 50-year-old man was found dead inside a Lawndale residence after a fire early Monday, Oct. 12, Chicago police said. Police and firefighters responded at about 5:22 a.m. to a report of a fire in the 1300 block of South Millard Avenue. Firefighters quickly put out the blaze, and the man was later found unresponsive inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have opened a death investigation. Authorities had not reported a cause of death or determined what started the fire. No other injuries were reported, and no residents were displaced, according to authorities.
