Two people were killed in a crash on Independence Boulevard early Saturday as traffic headed toward Uptown Charlotte. Police temporarily closed inbound lanes near Charlottetown Avenue while investigating.
Two people died in a crash on Independence Boulevard near the I-277 interchange early Saturday, Oct. 10, Charlotte police said.
The crash happened around 4 a.m. on the boulevard’s inbound lanes toward Uptown. Medic officials said no other people were hospitalized.
Police temporarily shut down the inbound lanes at Charlottetown Avenue during the investigation. Authorities had not released information about what caused the crash.
