Two Indian Trail men die after pickup strikes trees in Monroe
Police identified Nemanja Ljepojevic, 35, and Davor Barisic, 44, as the two men killed in a crash on Old Charlotte Highway. The pickup’s driver survived and remains in critical condition.
Two men from Indian Trail were killed early Sunday when their Chevrolet Silverado left Old Charlotte Highway in Monroe and struck multiple trees, police said.
The Monroe Police Department identified the victims as Nemanja Ljepojevic, 35, and Davor Barisic, 44. Both died at the scene. The crash happened near Rogers Road shortly before 1 a.m., with three men in the truck at the time.
The driver survived and was airlifted to a Charlotte-area hospital, where he remains in critical condition, police said.
The department’s Traffic Division is investigating what led the vehicle to leave the roadway. Police have not announced additional details.
