A 2-year-old boy died after a shooting Saturday night at a home on McCall Town Road in a community south of Lenoir, Caldwell County deputies said. The boy got hold of an unsecured gun inside the home, according to deputies. Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances of the shooting. No one has been charged. The investigation is in its early stages, and officials have not announced further information.
