Hickory police are asking the public to help locate two men wanted in connection with a shooting that killed 23-year-old Dionte Murph and wounded another person on Oct. 14.
Police say Deandre Moore and Jamarion Lackey are wanted on charges of murder and attempted murder. Authorities consider both men armed and dangerous.
Officers were called to 14th Street SW at about 6:40 p.m. after reports of gunfire. They found Murph with a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died, police said.
A second victim, 19-year-old Devon Izard Jr., was also shot and taken to a hospital. His injury was not considered life-threatening.
Police said Lackey has a tattoo on his right forearm that reads “Loyalty for Life” and includes an angel. The department is investigating the shooting as a homicide and asked anyone with information about Moore or Lackey to contact Hickory police.
The charges are allegations; the men have not been convicted.
