Curtis Warren, a 25-year-old former Charlotte Soccer Academy player and youth coach, died after a motorcycle crash in Iredell County on Oct. 2, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. at Red Cedar Lane and Sullivan Farm Road. Troopers said an 18-year-old driving a car on Red Cedar Lane was turning left onto Sullivan Farm Road when the car collided with Warren’s 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The driver, Addison Oxendine, was not injured, troopers said. Warren suffered injuries and later died. The crash remains under investigation, and authorities have not announced any further findings.

Charlotte Soccer Academy said in a Facebook post on Oct. 22 that Warren had been a player and Youth Coach at its Huntersville location. The academy described him as part of its family and said he would be missed.
