Two 11-year-olds were arrested after Charlotte-Mecklenburg police responded to a report of juveniles throwing rocks at passing cars while riding e-bikes in Ballantyne, police said.
Officers located two e-bikes traveling at what police described as an increased speed and attempted a traffic stop. One rider stopped; the other fled and was later found at a nearby residence.
Police seized both e-bikes. The children were charged with failing to heed lights and sirens and operating without a license, then released to their guardians. Police did not say whether any vehicles were damaged or provide further details about the reported rock-throwing.
