Elkton police await Delaware extradition in fatal shooting of Keeran Angol
A 24-year-old man suspected of killing 29-year-old Keeran Angol is in custody in Delaware, where he is being held on other matters. Elkton police say they recovered 17 shell casings at the scene and are awaiting his return to Maryland.
ELKTON, Md. — A 24-year-old man suspected in the fatal shooting of Keeran Angol is in police custody in Delaware, and authorities are awaiting his extradition to Maryland, Elkton police said Oct. 22, 2026.
Angol, 29, was found dead in a field behind the Delancy Village townhouse community after police responded to reports of gunfire early Friday. Investigators recovered 17 shell casings at the scene, Elkton Police Lt. Ron Odom said.
Police believe the shooting followed a disagreement earlier that day. Odom said Angol had been doing construction-related work at a home near Danford Drive for the suspect’s mother, whom Angol knew as a friend. Police responded to an earlier call in the area, left, and returned about two hours later after shots were reported, according to Odom.
Odom said investigators believe one person fired the shots. The suspect, who is from the Elkton area, is being held in Delaware on other matters and also has a Maryland probation-violation warrant, he said. Authorities did not identify him publicly in the information provided.
The suspect remains accused, not convicted, in Angol’s killing. Police said they are awaiting his extradition to Maryland to face the allegations.
