A Crofton High School student has been identified after pepper spray was used at the school’s Homecoming dance Saturday night, the school said in a letter to families Monday, Oct. 19.
The student will face charges from police and disciplinary action under the school system’s Code of Student Conduct, according to the letter. The student’s name was not disclosed.
The school is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact school officials. It also said refunds for Homecoming tickets are not feasible, despite receiving inquiries from families.
In place of refunds, the school plans to work with the Student Government Association and the Principal’s Advisory Council to consider holding another event in the winter or spring.
