Texas PAC reports $131 million in support of Ken Paxton’s Senate bid
A Republican super PAC reported spending $131 million to back Attorney General Ken Paxton in Texas’ closely watched U.S. Senate race. More than $61 million was spent in a matter of days, with most of that burst going to television and streaming ads.
AUSTIN — Texas PAC, a Republican super PAC supporting Attorney General Ken Paxton’s bid for the U.S. Senate, reported spending $131 million on his behalf through Sept. 30, according to Federal Election Commission records.
The group spent $61.4 million within a few days. Of that amount, about $56 million paid for television and streaming advertisements, while $3.7 million went to digital ads supporting Paxton or opposing his Democratic rival, state Rep. James Talarico. The PAC also reported $1.5 million for printed mail and postage, plus $25,000 for media production.
Texas PAC lists Republican operative Cabell Hobbs as its treasurer. The spending underscores the scale of outside political money entering a competitive Senate contest, as voters encounter campaign messages across broadcast, streaming and digital platforms.
The figures reflect expenditures reported to the FEC through Sept. 30; they do not represent spending by Paxton’s campaign itself.
