A man died after being found with traumatic injuries at a south Austin apartment complex Tuesday night, according to Austin police. Officers went to the La Madrid Apartments in the 11300 block of Menchaca Road after multiple 911 calls. They provided life-saving care until Austin-Travis County EMS arrived and took the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police said the victim and the suspect knew each other and characterized the incident as isolated. The department did not specify how the man was injured or say whether anyone had been arrested. The investigation was Austin’s 46th homicide investigation of 2026, police said.
