A grass fire that spread across about 75 acres prompted a multi-agency response Monday afternoon near Mustang Ridge in southeast Travis County. The fire was reported in the 9000 block of Evelyn Road, according to Mustang Ridge police. The department said firefighters were working to contain the blaze and later reported that dozers had arrived shortly after 3 p.m. to help push a containment line. The Texas Department of Public Safety and STAR Flight helicopters also responded, using water drops to support crews on the ground. Officials closed Evelyn Road at Toll 130. Bock Road at Caldvis Road was also closed by midafternoon, police said. Residents and drivers in the area should avoid the affected roads and follow directions from emergency personnel. Authorities had not announced the cause of the fire, whether any structures were damaged or whether anyone was injured in the available updates.
