Yoshinobu Yamamoto held Atlanta to one run over seven innings as Los Angeles beat the Braves 3-1 in Game 3. The Dodgers lead the best-of-five NL Division Series 2-1, leaving Atlanta facing elimination again.
ATLANTA — The Braves will need a win Wednesday to keep their postseason alive after Yoshinobu Yamamoto led the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 3-1 victory in Game 3 of the National League Division Series at Truist Park on Tuesday night.
Yamamoto struck out 10 and allowed one run over seven innings, helping Los Angeles take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series. The Dodgers can advance to the National League Championship Series with a win in Game 4, scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Atlanta had chances to make the game closer but could not convert. The Braves left six runners on base and went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
The loss puts Atlanta on the brink of elimination for the second time this postseason. The Braves must win Wednesday to force a decisive fifth game; a Dodgers victory would end the series.
