A woman was in critical condition after she was shot in the chest at a home on 15th Avenue East in Milton early Thursday, police said. Officers were dispatched around 2:30 a.m. after receiving a 911 call. When they arrived, they saw several bullet holes in the side of the house and found the wounded woman. Police have not said whether she was inside or outside the home when she was shot. The woman was taken to a hospital. Detectives remained at the scene investigating, and police said the suspect had not been found. Police described the shooting as an isolated incident and said they did not believe it posed a threat to the broader community.
