A 33-year-old man accused of killing a Seattle gas station clerk was arrested Tuesday in Chicago, hours after Seattle police publicly sought him in the case, authorities said.

Michael O’Neal Fleming is accused of shooting and killing the 36-year-old clerk, who was found behind the counter at a 76 gas station on Broad Street in Belltown last week. The clerk’s name was not provided in the information released Tuesday.

Seattle police issued a wanted notice for Fleming at 11:36 a.m. By 5:48 p.m., police said, the U.S. Marshals Service had arrested him in Chicago. Fleming is expected to be extradited to Seattle.
