SAN FRANCISCO — Demonstrators gathered in San Francisco on Saturday for the fourth nationwide No Kings protest, combining a rally against the Trump administration with a call to vote early. Dozens of Bay Area cities held events, and San Francisco hosted one of the region’s largest, according to organizers and event coverage.

The National Coalition said the protests were intended to be nonpartisan and focused on increasing voter participation. In San Francisco, however, many demonstrators carried anti-Trump and No Kings signs. Music and dancing gave the gathering the feel of a street party, while speakers and organizers emphasized voting rights and early ballots.

Adam Sheehan of Indivisible San Francisco urged people to vote before Election Day, pointing to uncertainty over events at the federal level, personal circumstances that can disrupt plans and the length of the ballot. Several rallygoers brought completed ballots to an official drop box after the event.

Participants also said they were concerned about developments in other states and what those could mean for democracy and election integrity. The demonstration reflected a broader strategy among civic groups to turn protest participation into engagement at the ballot box.

Republican critics have previously called the rallies staged and misguided, arguing that organizers should seek to unite people rather than deepen political divisions. The San Francisco organizers’ stated goal was nonpartisan voter participation, even as the crowd’s signs and messages showed clear opposition to the current administration.
