Newport Pell Bridge closing one lane in each direction through early Tuesday
The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority says lane restrictions on the Newport Pell Bridge will run from Monday morning until 3 a.m. Tuesday. Drivers should expect longer travel times and use caution.
Drivers crossing the Newport Pell Bridge should plan for lane closures from Monday morning, Oct. 26, through 3 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority said.
The bridge’s westbound right lane is scheduled to close at 7 a.m. Monday. The eastbound left lane is set to close at 9 a.m. Both closures are expected to remain in place until 3 a.m. Tuesday.
The authority warned that the restrictions could increase travel times and urged motorists to proceed carefully while the work is underway.
