Democratic Gov. Tina Kotek and Republican state Sen. Christine Drazan were scheduled to debate Wednesday, Oct. 7, in Medford, as their campaigns continue toward Oregon’s Nov. 3 election. The hourlong debate, co-hosted by Southern Oregon University, was set to begin at 7 p.m. and air on KOBI Channel 5. Viewers could also watch a free livestream through the station’s website. The Medford forum was the second of three televised debates planned for the race. Kotek and Drazan met in Eugene the previous week, with their final debate scheduled for Bend the following Tuesday. County officials are due to begin mailing ballots to voters the day after that final debate. The schedule puts the candidates’ last televised faceoff just ahead of a key point in the election calendar, when ballots begin arriving in Oregon households.
