Pedestrian carrying bicycle dies after being struck on eastbound I-10
A person walking across all lanes of eastbound I-10 with a bicycle was struck by a vehicle around 10:45 p.m. Thursday at milepost 136. The pedestrian died at the scene, according to Arizona Department of Public Safety officials.
A pedestrian carrying a bicycle was struck and killed while crossing eastbound Interstate 10 late Thursday night, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.
The crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. at milepost 136. The person was walking across all lanes of traffic when a vehicle hit them from the side, according to the department.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver stayed at the location and was interviewed by investigators. Drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash, DPS said.
Authorities have not released the pedestrian’s identity or additional details about the circumstances of the crossing.
