One killed, two hurt in Saturday fire at Bensalem’s Primavera Square apartments
A second-floor apartment fire at Primavera Square in Bensalem affected six units and left one man dead and two people with non-life-threatening injuries. The cause remains under investigation.
One man died and two people were injured in a fire Saturday evening at the Primavera Square apartment complex in Bensalem Township, police said. The injured residents were taken to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
The fire began in a second-floor apartment in the complex on Station Avenue, according to police. Six apartments were affected. Firefighters arrived and extinguished the flames, while residents’ video showed smoke pouring from windows and doors.
Anthony Ferrante, a resident who described the man who died as a friend and neighbor, said he first heard alarms around 6:15 p.m. while walking his dog. After going to a nearby Wawa, he returned to find the fire and residents responding to the emergency.
“It hurts. He was my neighbor. A friend,” Ferrante said of the man who died.
Police said residents did not need assistance from the American Red Cross because they could return to their apartments or had other places to stay. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
