Luminol search continues at Olney property linked to seven missing women
Investigators worked into Monday night at a home on Chew Avenue in Philadelphia’s Olney neighborhood, using luminol to look for traces of blood not visible to the naked eye. The search is part of an investigation involving seven missing or unidentified women connected to the property, which is associated with the late Ray Horsch and his son, Eugene Horsch. No bodies have been found at the home, and the investigation remains active. Crews were expected to return Tuesday with heavy equipment and begin digging in the yard. The latest work follows a broader search of the property. Last week, crews removed large items that were relocated as evidence. Investigators have also dismantled sections of walls and floors while looking for potential forensic evidence, and removed laboratory equipment and containers from the basement. Neighbors watched the work continue late into the evening. Thom Lamb, who grew up nearby, recalled seeing people come and go from the home when he was a child. He described the activity as frightening and said the house was often covered up, with no one on the porch. The continued searches have drawn attention in Olney as residents await answers about the women connected to the case. Authorities have not announced findings from the luminol examination or the planned yard excavation.
