Two west Oklahoma City data-center rezoning votes return to council agenda

Two west Oklahoma City data-center rezoning votes return to council agenda

OKLAHOMA CITY — After months of postponements, the Oklahoma City Council is set to take up final rezoning ordinances for two properties proposed for a data-center campus in the city’s west side.

The sites are at 3025 N. Frisco Road and 13921 NW 23rd St., near Interstate 40 and Frisco Road. The proposals would shift the properties from agricultural and existing planned-development zoning into new planned unit development districts.

The council’s agenda lists both ordinances for consideration after repeated delays dating to March. Each requires at least five affirmative votes to pass.

The Oklahoma City Planning Commission recommended approval of both requests, subject to technical review conditions. However, the council agenda also says requested easements have not yet been received.

The two properties are part of a larger proposed data-center campus. The council’s decisions would address the requested zoning changes; the available information does not specify a construction schedule or provide details about the project’s expected power or water use.
