Oklahoma narcotics agents seize fentanyl powder and meth in ongoing probe

Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics agents seized 12.5 pounds of raw fentanyl powder and two ounces of methamphetamine during an ongoing investigation, the agency said Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026. The agency did not identify where the drugs were found or announce any arrests in its public account of the seizure.

OBN’s Anti-Heroin Task Force and Anti-Meth Task Force worked on the investigation, officials said. The bureau said distributors can press raw fentanyl powder into counterfeit pills designed to look like prescription medications, including oxycodone and Xanax.

The seized fentanyl could have produced nearly 130,000 doses in pill form, OBN Director Donnie Anderson said. He warned that a single counterfeit pill can be fatal.

Anderson said fentanyl was detected in nearly 2,600 fatal overdoses in Oklahoma over the past five years. The agency did not provide further details about the investigation or the seizure.
