Two Franklin County deputies carried a homeowner to safety from a house fire on Water Cure Road on Wednesday, Oct. 21, while a crash involving a patrol vehicle injured the deputy and another driver, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
The homeowner was unable to get out of the residence, the sheriff’s office said. The deputies went inside and brought the homeowner outside.
During the fire response, the patrol vehicle collided with another vehicle. Both drivers were injured. The sheriff’s office did not provide details about the injuries or explain what caused the crash, and asked the community to keep both people in mind as they recover.
The department said its response involved coordination with local fire departments and thanked those crews for their work alongside deputies.
