Harris joins Milwaukee rally for Democrat David Crowley as Wisconsin governor’s race tightens

MILWAUKEE — Former Vice President Kamala Harris campaigned Monday with Democratic gubernatorial candidate David Crowley, making a late push in Wisconsin with eight days remaining before Election Day.

Harris called the contest tight and urged supporters to keep working through the final days. “Eight days out, and on day nine, we don't want to have any regrets,” she said. “This is a tight race because the stakes are so high.”

Crowley, Milwaukee County’s executive, emphasized turnout at the event. “We need your help, but we also need turnout,” he said. “We need to show up and show out.”

Harris’s appearance came as both Crowley and Republican candidate Tom Tiffany were conducting statewide bus tours. Tiffany, speaking at a stop in Racine, referred to the visit as “Kamala Monday here in Wisconsin.” He said his campaign had visited 55 communities and described the response as momentum for his candidacy.

President Donald Trump had no Wisconsin campaign events scheduled during the final week, Tiffany said, adding that the president was focused on congressional races. A Marquette Law School poll cited in the campaign coverage put Trump’s Wisconsin job approval at 38%.

Harris narrowly lost Wisconsin in the 2024 presidential election, by the smallest margin among the battleground states, according to the report. Her return to the campaign trail comes as national figures make appearances in key states ahead of the midterms.
