A 30-year-old man died early Sunday after a shooting at a Racine home near Russet Street and Durand Avenue, police said. The victim was identified by a loved one as Raymond Massie Jr.

Officers responded shortly after 3 a.m. and found Massie with a gunshot wound to the head. He died at the scene, according to police.

Investigators said family members had argued before a 63-year-old relative arrived and shot Massie. Police arrested the woman and referred a proposed charge of first-degree intentional homicide to the Racine County District Attorney’s Office. The referral is not itself a formal charge.

Police are asking anyone with information or video related to the shooting to contact the Racine Police Department Investigations Unit at 262-635-7756. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 262-636-9330 or through the P3 Tips app.
