Ivan Granado identified after fatal shooting at southwest Miami-Dade home
Authorities identified Ivan Granado as the man who fatally shot himself after shooting a woman at a home on Southwest 148th Street. The woman was hospitalized in critical condition, and investigators are examining the incident as domestic in nature.
Ivan Granado was identified Friday as the man who shot a woman and then fatally shot himself at a southwest Miami-Dade home the day before, authorities said.
Miami-Dade deputies responded Thursday to a home in the 15400 block of Southwest 148th Street, where they found Granado and a woman with gunshot wounds. Granado was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office. The Medical Examiner Department confirmed Granado’s identity and death.
Investigators said the two had argued before Granado shot the woman and then himself. A firearm was found next to him, deputies said. The sheriff’s office described the incident as domestic in nature, but said the pair’s family relationship had not yet been determined. The cause of the shooting remains under investigation.
