DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Detectives are investigating the deaths of two young boys found Sunday in a retention pond after they went missing near a Daytona Beach apartment complex, police said. Kashh Williams, 3, and Elijah Hawkins, 5, disappeared Saturday near The Reserve at Clyde Morries Landings, at 1361 North Clyde Morris Boulevard, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department. Their bodies were found in the pond Sunday morning. Police announced they had been found dead at about 2:30 a.m. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement had issued a statewide missing-child alert before the boys were found. Police have not released further details about the circumstances of their deaths. On Sunday, people left balloons, stuffed animals and candles in a grassy area near the pond, which is south of LPGA Boulevard and east of North Clyde Morris Boulevard. Detectives asked anyone with information to call the Daytona Beach Police Department at 386-671-5100.
