Brewers-Rays World Series brings Friday-night crowds to Milwaukee ballpark

MILWAUKEE — American Family Field staff are getting ready for a World Series crowd, with tens of thousands of fans expected when the Milwaukee Brewers host the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 on Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The series will produce a first-time World Series champion. The ballpark opened to media Wednesday as the Brewers added World Series graphics around the stadium.

Fans looking for team gear can shop at the Left Field entrance and Home Plate Gate stores. On non-game days, the Left Field store is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Home Plate store is closed on non-game days. Both stores will open to fans on game days when the stadium gates open.

Parking lots are scheduled to open four hours before each home game, and stadium gates three hours before first pitch. The Brewers are encouraging fans to buy parking passes in advance, warning that day-of-game availability will be limited. Prepaid passes are available online through the team’s parking page.

Official programs tracing the Brewers’ path to the World Series will be sold at the ballpark and at designated retail locations. The series marks a major moment for Milwaukee fans, whose team is back on baseball’s biggest stage as it pursues its first championship.
