MADISON, Wis. — Two workers were rescued Friday after the sky crane they were on malfunctioned, leaving them unable to safely descend about 30 feet above the ground near Old Camden Square and Wall Street. Madison firefighters were called to the area at about 11 a.m. The workers remained in the crane while emergency crews positioned a ladder truck nearby. Firefighters extended the truck’s aerial ladder to reach the crane. The workers then exited the crane and used the ladder to return to the ground safely. Officials did not provide additional details about what caused the crane to become stuck or identify the workers’ employer.
