MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are asking the public to help identify a person accused of stabbing a man at a north-side laundromat last week. Officers were sent to Northport Laundry at about 9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, after a report of a stabbing. Investigators say the person entered the business and stood near a table where the victim had left personal belongings. When the victim returned to collect those items, police said, the person allegedly stabbed him with a pocketknife. The victim and the suspect did not know one another, and investigators described the attack as unprovoked. Emergency medical personnel treated the victim at the scene. Police said the suspect left before officers arrived, and the investigation remains active.
