MADISON, Wis. — Madison police responded to a report of gunfire early Sunday near the city’s northeast side, according to Dane County Dispatch. Officers were sent to the 1100 block of North Sherman Avenue at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026. Authorities had not released information about possible injuries or identified a suspect in custody as of the initial report. The circumstances surrounding the reported shots, including whether property was damaged or how many shots may have been fired, were not immediately available.
