PACKWAUKEE, Wis. — A 66-year-old Packwaukee man has been sentenced to one year in prison after being found guilty in a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Marquette County. Charles Hughes was sentenced Friday to one year behind bars followed by 10 years of probation, according to online court records. The probation conditions include a lifetime revocation of his driver’s license. The crash occurred in June 2025 and killed Ryan Alexander, 40, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators found Alexander and the vehicle involved in the crash at the driveway of the residence where Hughes lived, according to the case account. Hughes told investigators that visibility was poor when the crash occurred, the account states. Hughes was arrested in November 2025 on a charge of hit-and-run resulting in death. A court found him guilty July 14.
