A lockdown at Oshkosh North High School was lifted Wednesday after police located a person connected to a report of a potential weapon on campus and recovered a weapon, authorities said. The Oshkosh Police Department confirmed an active incident at the high school Wednesday morning. The school district said it initiated the lockdown after being notified about the reported weapon. Police located the individual and took that person into custody. Authorities did not immediately identify the person, disclose the type of weapon or announce any charges. The district said all students and staff were safe. Students were bused to Oshkosh West High School, where parents and guardians were instructed to pick them up. Families were urged not to go to the North High School campus while the police response was underway. The incident remained under investigation Wednesday afternoon.
