Muscoda police officer Kate Fleischauer died unexpectedly Monday morning, prompting condolences from law enforcement agencies in Grant and Iowa counties in Wisconsin.
Fleischauer had served with the Muscoda Police Department for 12 years. Iowa County Sheriff Michael Peterson said her death was a profound loss for the department and for law enforcement and emergency services personnel across the region.
Muscoda Police Chief Bill Schramm said Fleischauer’s cause of death remains undetermined and that an autopsy is scheduled for later this week. Funeral plans and details about law enforcement honors are expected to be announced later.
