MADISON, Wis. — A section of Aberg Avenue will close at 8 a.m. Sept. 28 as crews replace the road’s railroad crossing, according to the city of Madison. The closure will extend between Loftsgordon Avenue and Everett Street. The city expects the road to reopen Oct. 2, though the schedule could change if construction conditions require it. The crossing will be closed to all traffic during the work, including people walking and biking. Pedestrians can detour via Loftsgordon Avenue, Schlimgen Avenue and Packers Avenue. The project will temporarily disrupt a connection used by motorists and nonmotorized travelers in the area, making the posted detour important for anyone traveling through the corridor during construction.
