MADISON, Wis. — Madison police arrested a 21-year-old man Thursday in connection with a shooting at a woman’s vehicle earlier in the week, authorities said. Officers were called at about 11:05 p.m. Tuesday to the 3700 block of School Road after receiving a report of gunfire. Police said the woman, 18, and Jayvion Washington had argued earlier that day and agreed to meet near Vera Court. According to police, Washington began shooting at the woman’s vehicle as she drove to the area and pulled onto the road. The woman was not injured, but her vehicle sustained damage. Officers arrested Washington at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday on Sherman Avenue and booked him into the Dane County Jail. He faces a charge of first-degree attempted homicide. The charge is an allegation, and a criminal complaint would provide additional details about the accusation and evidence. Police said Washington and the woman know each other. Madison’s Violent Crime Unit is investigating.
