MADISON, Wis. — Residents who need to register to vote will have multiple opportunities to get help across Madison this week, with registration drives scheduled at libraries, community centers, food pantries, colleges and other neighborhood locations. The events begin Tuesday, Sept. 15, National Voter Registration Day, and continue through Saturday, Sept. 19. The Madison City Clerk’s Office is coordinating the in-person registration effort. Residents should bring proof of address, such as a utility bill, bank or credit-card statement, a current Wisconsin driver license or identification card, a paycheck or a government-issued document. Wisconsin voters with a state driver license or ID card may also register online through MyVote Wisconsin. Tuesday’s registration sites include the East Madison Community Center, 8 Straubel Court, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; the Goodman Community Center’s Fritz Food Pantry, 149 Waubesa St., from 9 a.m. to noon; Madison College’s Truax Gateway Center, 1701 Wright St., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Neighborhood House Community Center, 29 S. Mills St., from 4 to 6 p.m.; and the UW-Madison Gordon Dining & Event Center, 770 W. Dayton St., from 5 to 7 p.m. Additional sites are scheduled throughout the week: - Wednesday, Sept. 16: Greenbush Bakery on Regent Street, 1402 Regent St., 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Madison Sourdough, 916 Williamson St., 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and the Goodman Community Center’s Fritz Food Pantry, 5 to 8 p.m. - Thursday, Sept. 17: Goodman Community Center, noon to 3 p.m.; The River Food Pantry, 2201 Darwin Road, noon to 2 p.m.; and a registration table at the Madison Night Market in front of the Orpheum Theater on State Street, 5 to 9 p.m. - Friday, Sept. 18: Greenbush Bakery, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Madison Sourdough, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Madison College-Truax Gateway Center, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Ian’s Pizza at Frances Street, 319 N. Frances St., noon to 7 p.m. - Saturday, Sept. 19: Greenbush Bakery, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Ian’s Pizza at Garver Feed Mill, noon to 7 p.m.; and Olbrich Botanical Garden, 3330 Atwood Ave., 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Madison Public Library branches will also provide registration assistance. The Central, Pinney and Sequoya libraries will be open for registration from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
