MADISON, Wis. — Major construction projects across the Madison Metropolitan School District remain on schedule and within budget, district officials said Thursday during a media tour of the work funded by a school referendum. The district expects all major renovations to be completed by fall 2027. The projects are intended to update school facilities using money approved by local voters. School Board President Savion Castro said maintaining the construction timeline and budget is an obligation to the community members who approved the spending. “It's out of respect and appreciation to the local taxpayers and folks in the neighborhood to see that these projects are on time and on budget,” Castro said. “The money they're spending is being used in the ways we intend for these buildings.” The district’s update comes as Madison families and taxpayers continue to watch how referendum funds are being used and whether construction affects school operations and surrounding neighborhoods. Officials did not provide additional project-by-project details in the update, but said the broader renovation program remains on track for its fall 2027 target.
