Frontier drops Madison-Denver route, leaving United as the nonstop option

Frontier Airlines ended its Madison-to-Denver service on Oct. 4, leaving travelers with fewer airline choices for the route, according to Dane County Regional Airport spokesperson Michael Riechers.

United Airlines still flies between Madison and Denver. Riechers said Denver is the airport’s most popular destination. The airport is hopeful Frontier will resume service, but its plans beyond the end of 2026 are unclear.

The Madison route change is part of a wider shift in Frontier’s Denver service. The airline also made changes affecting routes from Milwaukee, Chicago Midway and New York’s John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia airports. No reason for the route changes was provided.
