A 16-year-old girl reported missing from Bowling Green was found safe in Idaho on Sept. 30, and a 32-year-old truck driver was taken into custody, the FBI’s Louisville office said.
The girl was reported missing early the previous week, according to the FBI. Authorities said the man was detained without incident. They have not publicly identified him or said what charges he may face.
The girl was reunited with her family over the weekend, officials said.
The recovery was part of the FBI’s Operation Summer Heat 2.0, which ran from June through September. The bureau said the nationwide operation identified more than 1,400 child victims. Officials have not provided further details about the investigation in this case.
