Burn Boot Camp headquarters to oversee four area gyms during safety review
The fitness company is temporarily taking over day-to-day operations at locations in Louisville, Crestwood, Prospect and Jeffersonville after allegations surfaced in a sealed civil lawsuit against franchise partner Julie Henderson’s husband. Burn Boot Camp says it will review safety measures at the gyms in coordination with Henderson.
Burn Boot Camp headquarters is temporarily overseeing day-to-day operations at four gyms in the Louisville area after allegations surfaced against the husband of their local operator, the company said Oct. 11, 2026.
The locations are in Louisville, Crestwood and Prospect, Kentucky, and Jeffersonville, Indiana. Julie Henderson, who operates the franchises, is married to Wes Henderson, the former CEO of TKC Distilling, the parent company of The Kentucky Castle and True Story Whiskey.
Wes Henderson is facing allegations in a civil lawsuit that remains sealed. The allegations have not been detailed publicly in the information available about the case.
Burn Boot Camp Vice President of Marketing Trish Peña said the company and Julie Henderson jointly decided that headquarters would take on certain daily operations. The company said it is working with Henderson to strengthen safety measures, including through an independent review of the gyms’ safeguards.
“The privacy and safety of our members are our highest priority, and we take these allegations very seriously,” Peña said.
Burn Boot Camp said it is not aware of any criminal or civil investigation involving its locations or Henderson’s business. The company said Henderson has agreed to cooperate fully and that it will cooperate with law enforcement. Peña said the company would not comment further on the specifics while the process continues.
The temporary operational change affects members and employees at four sites across two states, though the company did not provide a timeline for how long headquarters would remain in charge.
