Heirloom at Torrey Pines brings 190 income-restricted homes for seniors to Las Vegas’ southwest valley
The new community near Torrey Pines Drive and Warm Springs Road is for residents 65 and older with low or fixed incomes. Nearly 90% of its 190 apartments were leased within months of opening.
A new 190-unit apartment community for older adults has opened in Las Vegas’ southwest valley, with nearly nine in 10 homes already leased, according to its developer.
Local leaders and developers marked the opening of Heirloom at Torrey Pines on Monday, Oct. 26. The complex is near Torrey Pines Drive and Warm Springs Road and is intended for seniors 65 and older with low or fixed incomes.
Residents must meet income limits set at or below 50% to 60% of the area median income, depending on the applicable limit. The high share of leased apartments just months after opening points to strong demand for housing at rents affordable to older residents, though no rent amounts or waitlist details were provided.
Jess Molasky, chief operating officer of developer Ovation, said the homes are meant for people such as retired teachers and nurses who have served the community. “Now it’s our time to turn that back around and make sure they have a nice place to live,” Molasky said.
Coordinated Living of Southern Nevada provides services at the property, connecting residents with community resources and social activities. The opening adds a dedicated senior housing option as Southern Nevada continues efforts to expand affordable housing.
