A 54-year-old Jacksonville woman was killed late Friday while crossing Atlantic Boulevard near Indian Springs Drive, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Charges are pending against the SUV’s driver.
A 54-year-old Jacksonville woman died after an SUV struck her while she was crossing Atlantic Boulevard late Friday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened after 11 p.m. near Indian Springs Drive in Duval County. The woman was walking south across the road toward the drive when the SUV, traveling east, hit her with its front right corner, according to the FHP report.
She was not in a marked crosswalk and was pronounced dead at the scene, FHP said. The SUV’s driver, a 48-year-old Jacksonville woman, and a 13-year-old passenger were not injured. Charges are pending, the agency said.
