Hinojosa Opens Statewide Job Portal as Transition Team Begins Filling Administration Roles
Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa's transition team has launched an online portal inviting Texans to apply for positions in her incoming administration, with rolling reviews of resumes and cover letters already underway. The bipartisan 'By and For the People' committee says it is casting a wide net for talent across state government.
AUSTIN â Texans hoping to shape the next state administration now have a formal way to apply. Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa's transition team launched a new website and online resume portal over the weekend, opening the application process for roles across her incoming administration.
The portal, accessible through the official transition site at governorhinojosa.com, invites residents from a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels to submit resumes, cover letters and personal information. Transition officials said submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis as the administration moves to fill key positions throughout state government.
The effort is being led by a bipartisan transition team operating under the banner "By and For the People." Its co-chairs are Ernest Bailes and Ryan Pollock, joined by Executive Director Joe Madden and Senior Advisor Talama Barksdale. Officials said the team's goal is to draw on talent from every corner of the state ahead of the new term.
"This is a transition for the whole state of Texas, and as such, we will have many opportunities for people to weigh in with their ideas, send in their resumes, and apply to join the administration we're building," Hinojosa said.
Madden described the portal's rollout as an initial step toward carrying out the governor-elect's governing agenda, framing the hiring push as the groundwork for the priorities her administration intends to pursue.
No specific administration appointments have been announced so far. The launch of the portal signals that the transition is moving from its organizational phase into the work of assembling a government, a process that will determine who staffs agencies responsible for everything from public education to land management.
For residents, the portal offers an unusual degree of openness in a process that is often conducted through insider networks. Transition officials stressed that applicants of all experience levels are welcome to apply, and that the committee intends to review materials continuously rather than waiting for a single deadline.
Hinojosa's transition team was introduced during her first post-election press conference, where she emphasized bipartisanship and signaled immediate administrative changes in public education and state land management. The job portal is the latest step in that effort, giving Texans a direct channel to seek roles in the government she is preparing to lead.
Interested candidates can find additional information and submit application materials through the official transition website.
