CADIZ, Ohio — A Harrison County judge has sentenced Mickey Green to life in prison for fatally shooting tanker-truck driver Steven Andrews after Andrews’ truck crossed the edge of Green’s lawn near Tappan Lake. Green, 63, of Tippecanoe, will be eligible for parole after serving 24 years. A jury found him guilty of murder, felonious assault and discharging a firearm on or near a prohibited premises, according to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. The shooting happened April 5, 2025, near the intersection of Norris Road and Moravian Trail Road. Andrews, 50, of New Philadelphia, was driving a tanker truck when it went through the intersection and over the edge of Green’s lawn. Green yelled at Andrews, who stopped the truck, got out and walked toward him, authorities said. Green then pulled a gun and shot Andrews in the head. Andrews was unarmed. Green argued during the trial that he acted in self-defense. The jury rejected that claim and convicted him on all charges before the judge imposed the sentence.
