Reynoldsburg recovery center helps Franklin, Licking residents after August storms
Ohio and federal agencies are operating disaster recovery centers for people affected by August flooding and tornadoes. A center at Reynoldsburg Community Church serves Franklin and Licking counties, with another listed site in Roseville.
REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio — Residents of Franklin and Licking counties affected by August’s severe storms can get help applying for disaster aid at a recovery center based at Reynoldsburg Community Church on Graham Road.
The Ohio Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency are operating three recovery centers across Ohio. The Reynoldsburg location offers in-person guidance on federal assistance and other state and local resources. Parts of central and southern Ohio experienced major flooding and tornadoes during the storms.
“Disaster survivors can access federal, state, or local assistance programs” and get help with applications through one-on-one conversations, Ohio EMA Executive Director Sima Merick said. Residents can also apply to FEMA online, through the agency’s app or by phone.
FEMA’s assistance line is 1-800-621-3362. A second center identified by officials is at the William H. Baker Community Center in Roseville, serving Perry, Morgan and Muskingum counties. Officials did not provide the location or service area for the third center in the information available.
The recovery centers are intended to help storm survivors navigate available programs as they address damage and other needs. The agencies announced the assistance on Oct. 8.
